Askman Furniture was founded in 1913 by Carl Alfred Askman.
The company is now managed by the third generation of the family,
his grandson Peter Askman. They have produced a number of highly original,
desirable and collectable designs: tables, chairs, bowls, trays and
tableware products.
Today, the company markets furniture designed by contemporary Danish designers
such as Jørgen Møller and Hans Sandgren Jakobsen. Peter Askman
continues the traditions and craftmanship that have been a hallmark of
the company since the beginning.
The Taburet M stool (above) was designed by
Jørgen Møller in 2000, and is already a popular
collector's item. The uniquely minimalist design is comfortable,
stylish, strong and practical.
The Solo M table (above) is a simple occasional table that stands
out from the crowd. Designed by Hans Sandgren Jakobsen, the top rests on
legs that can be reversed, as shown. Its apparent delicacy and poise
belies its stability and strength.
The Tray Square was also designed by Jørgen Møller
in 2000. It forms part of a larger collection.
