Opus1 was designed by the Danish furniture
designer Bo Steenberg, for JdB Furniture of
Denmark. It is Bo's first complete collection
of furniture, although he has been working as
furniture designer for the past 20 years,
designing for Børge Mogensen and Hans Wegner,
as supplied to Royal Copenhagen, Legoland
Hotel and The Admiral Hotel, to name just a
few.
Although Opus1 is firmly rooted in
Scandinavian
furniture design tradition, it also reflects a
new
sensual trend in interior furnishing towards a
richer oriental 'feel'.
The enamel finish, reminiscent of Japanese
lacquer work, complements the clean lines
and
dark natural hardwoods used for drawers. The
collection is a fusion of opposites meeting,
in terms of colour, mood and shapes.
The choice of enamels on wood frame is based
on the colours of Feng Shui, with a strong
Japanese red, dark blue, racing green or a
cream white. The choice in hardwood drawers is
mahogany, walnut or maple.
For larger contracts, it is possible to
specify other woods or colours, as well as
number of drawers.
Shelves are available with side supports, in 2
different lengths, and with CD arrangement
