Annemette Beck on stand E77 (new product)

Annemette will be launching a whole seclection of weaves, but here are the first pictures from Annemette's latest design for a hand-tufted rug, featuring a rubbing of a lace pattern. The finished rug can be seen at 100%.

The design for the hand-tufted rug is first presented as a scale drawing, from which a paper template, full size, is produced. The mood board is created, with the original design and all colours of yarn. The artisan executing the design refers back to the original drawing all the time.

The full size paper pattern is transferred to the canvas, stretched vertically. The artisan fills in the drawn area with a gun, which carries maybe 4 or 5 strands of yarn, possibly of several colours. The work is carried out from the back of the canvas.

The center part of the rug, which is also the focal centre, has almost been completed. After that, the other areas will be filled in. Finally, the rug will be trimmed from the top. The rug can also be sculpted and lines sharpened.
